Here's a little update on where are we at the current stage:

With the help from Ah Vong (the sound engineer) and Singblass (the composer), we have finally done our mixing for sound and music! I will get the audio files from Ah Vong by tomorrow then proceed with the final output.
After that which is the next day, we will have a short preview of the film at the cinema's hall to check whether the pictures and sounds are working well. I really hope everything is going to be OK.

Here's another thing I guess I need to highlight:

I heard many people out there thinks that【樂魔 the Negative Effect】is a short film. Well, it is NOT; it's actually an hour+ (approx: 80minutes) feature length documentary, so whoever is going to the premiere, please do not feel frustrated just because the film hasn't ended after one hour. Haha~

Oh! And...please make sure you had enough sleep before entered the cinema! :P

On this coming Sunday, 17th May 2009, the Negative Effect's team will be at the "Don't let the sound stop" music festival organized by Dong Tai Du - One of the biggest event of the year!

We will have a counter there to promote the movie, as well for people to collect their reservation tickets and the same time we will sell some movie-promotion items like postcards. So please be there to support us, and if you like music, go and support the indie bands from around the world, I'm sure it's gonna be a loud and fun experience.

The 4 musical stages presents a variant of exciting music from bands and Electronica musical groups, while the venue is set to become a brimming platform of inspiration with creative T-shirt design assembly, “T-Front”, leading the charge for a flea market of 40 creative stands showcasing their fun, youthful ingenuity. T-Front’s creative designs shall also merge with the music as their works of art will be showcased as the music is performed during our special Cat Walk Show.

Update for the Premiere Screening

Ladies & Gentleman,

Due to the many supports for the Premiere Screening, our cinema seats for 06June have already been fully reserved in a few days time, and the list is still coming in. Therefore, our team were to decide to do 2nd screening, or not.

After a few discuss with the team and Cineplex, we had decided not to do 2nd screening but changed it to a bigger hall (320 seats). Which, the reservations sent to us before today (10th May 2009)will be automatically includes into the Premiere. Soon I will reply you a confirmation mail, and the way to collect your tickets.

Really thank you for your supports! I'm sorry to tell that the ticket reservation is now closed. Any reservation send to us after today will be not be accepted, until further notice.

For those who have reserved the tickets earlier:

【樂魔】宣传分享会

【樂魔】宣传兼预告短片首映分享会（哇，好长的一个名字），终于圆满的结束了。
真的真的是要谢谢各位的出席！万分感激！

当天晚上我差不多八点到场，
还以为迟了些，
怎知等到九点多，就只有我的摄影师朋友一个人到！
然后我们开始慌了起来，
如果没什么人来，怎么跟Station 1交待...
哈哈！幸好差不多九点半过后就开始有人潮了。

我不是一个会讲话的人啦，
上台讲话时超紧张的，而且是面对这么多人。
所以如果有讲漏了或得罪的地方，
请大家一定要见谅。

当晚忘了提到 - 为什么会有这样的一个分享会，
其实主要的目的是为了要在第一时间和大家一起分享这个宣传短片，
可知道那短片是当天早上才正式完成的，超新鲜呢！
而且，大家聚在一起观赏，总比各自在家里的电脑前独自看好吧。

播完影片时，现场一片鼓掌的欢呼声，
我非常地感动！
很开心大家都很喜欢这部短片，
也让我觉得到我们之前的努力都没有白费。

接下来要面对的，
是超过十倍更大的挑战，
所以我也一定要付出十倍更多的努力，来完成它。

Good news: The website is all done!!
Bad news: But it's not accessible now... I'm sorry to tell that we are currently facing some bandwidth limit problem. I've already contacted the host company and hopefully they will get back to me as soon as possible.

Good news: The teaser is done! Well, for my part. I'm now waiting for our composer - singblass to come back from Melacca and continue with the music. But don't get too excited first, it's only a 1 minute teaser. However, I am sure it is a surprise one, something you all (those who was on the trip) haven't seen before... kekekeke~ :P

Title Logo ver.2

Here's an update version of the title logo.

I added in:
- a TLR camera in the letter "樂(happy)"
- a devil's tail in the letter "魔(devil)".

I think it works well for the black color letter but somehow for white color letter the TLR camera looks abit weak. So here I tried another approach:

回来家乡有一个星期多了。
因为外婆突然病情恶化，
上个星期二临时放下所有手上的工作，赶回来了。

因为这样，要很抱歉地告诉大家，
【乐魔】的预告片因此也得延迟一些。
迟些等我回去吉隆坡，
我答应一定会用双倍的时间与精力，
尽快完成它。

戏名 Movie Title

今天开始策划teaser的内容和节奏。
Teaser简单来讲，是短版的trailer。Trailer大家应该都明白吧。

当然这个时候，戏名是不可缺的。
之前在forum里有开了个贴，
要求大家帮忙想想可以为这个纪录片取什么名字。
接着他们提供了很多很有创意的名字，一个接一个。
有的很搞笑，有的很感性，
那些些都帮了我很大的忙。
后来我想，
在搞笑和严肃之间，要想一个比较快乐，然后又具杀伤力的。

我想到 “乐魔”。
乐魔是台湾人用来称呼 LOMO 的翻译名词。
对我而言，它是代表“快乐的魔鬼”，
把它用在这一班人的身上，我觉得是最好不过了。

至于negative effect,
negative这里指的是菲林底片。
菲林是整部纪录片的主题，
而菲林效应怎样把这一班人连在一起，就是整个故事的中心。
negative也可以是负面的意思，正好可以和魔鬼拉上关系。
所以我选择了"The Negative Effect"。

这里是一些简单的初步设计概念：

HV30

从槟城回来后的头几天，
正当我迫不及待想快点capture那些带子的时候，
发现了一个很大的问题-
我没有DV机来做capture那么久！

为什么？
因为三十八片带，陆陆续续至少得花上整个礼拜的时间，
如果我租一架回来，费用也要花上整千元！
更不用想借...
结果在这种情况下，
我只好自掏腰包，去买了一部DV机。

原本以为只是买一部千多元的DV机就好，
过后才发现，因为现在多数都转向DVD,SD或Harddisk的关系，
DV机已经很难找了。
经过上网查询后，发现Canon的这一部HV30还不错。
虽然价钱比预算贵了些，但可以录HDV，
至少想到说买来了除了做capture，以后还可以做录影用途，
所以不多考虑就买下来了。

第一次拥有自己的录像机非常高兴。
浩浩荡荡拿着它到公司正要准备capture的时候，
问题又来了。
电脑不知何故，detect 不到我的机，
以为是cable问题，所以去买了一条比较好的，
结果还是不行，
弄了几个晚上也不行。
后来的解决方法是，用我家的电脑做capture，
然后再带harddisk去公司做剪接。

就这样，
几乎每天回家的第一件事就是打开电脑，然后开始capture。
花了差不多两个礼拜的时间，现在终于快完成了。
很期待接下来的时间，预期在华人新年之前可以出一个预告片，
好让大家在过年期间，
可以帮帮忙，和家人或朋友宣传宣传一番！

不知不觉，从槟城Giă Giá Kuà Kuă 回来已经一个星期了。
那三天两夜的一切一切依然历历在幕，
或许是因为我透过镜头看的画面会比较强烈，
又或许是这些日子我太投入于制作这个纪录片，
就连我晚上睡觉也会梦见那一班人的影子。

三天的拍摄不算辛苦；但却是很累。
以往都只是专注在镜头角度取景，
顶多是手臂和身体会很累，
这次并兼导演一职，很多东西需要去思考，
特别是在访问那一方面，
因为里边的角色很多，因而需要怎样去分配这些角色，
画面够不够，内容够不够...
不停地不停地重复在我脑里，
所以一整天结束后，全身上下，里面外面都会很疲倦，
可是像JeePeng 说的，“值得”。

回来了。
我们总共拍了三十八片带。
谢谢Kah Giap 不厌倦的与我分担了这个拍摄任务，
还有很多很多人的帮忙，
包括Xiang 和Ying Tze 两位漂亮的助理，
Aik Sern, Jee Peng, Singblass, Li Hwa, Ah Hooi一班人的幕后策划与支持，
各个角色们的全力合作，
还有大家的“卖力演出”！

我很开心，所以开了这个部落格。
我想把接下来的整个后制过程，
随着这部lomo纪录片的发展，和大家分享，不管是好是坏，
一直到完成这部纪录片的那一天，
一直到我们大家坐在大银幕前的那一刻。

三十八片带，三十八小时的精彩。

我现在的任务，就是要怎样用这三十八小时的画面，
来讲述一部很美丽的故事。

怪叔叔说过：“康城以下的我们都不参展！”
说真的，虽然它只是滑稽之谈，
但我听了真的很感动，
因为，这意味着接下来的时间，
我们每一个人，会很努力地，尽力地弄好这一部电影。
结果是否会成功，没有人知道，
但每当我想起这些，或是回想起那一晚，
大家聚在一起，简简单单的一起唱歌的画面，
我知道，我们已经很接近了。
